A very brief fundraiser in support of The Ostrich, a new play coming to Berger Park Cultural Center May 2nd.
We are transforming the first floor of the Berger Park Cultural Center North Mansion into a tacky bed and breakfast called The Ostrich Feather and we are In Search of Cash for Ostriches (as well as props, costumes, and marketing expenses.)
Donate $50 or more by Friday, April 11th and an ostrich will appear in the show dedicated to you!
Our goal is $3000. Give $1, $15, $500 — literally any amount helps tremendously!
The Ostrich is a site-specific dark comedy set in The Ostrich Feather, a small town bed and breakfast adorned with prolific, mismatched ostrich decorations. The play is a co-production between Chicago Park District and The Terror Cottas, an experimental, playwright-driven theater collective. Your tax-deductible donation supports The Terror Cottas’ half of the cost.
You can also give us an ostrich! Do you own the ugliest ostrich tchotchke ever to make eyes sore? Give or lend it to the show. Are you artistic or crafty? Make us an ostrich artwork. You can even offer your artwork for sale in the program and keep the proceeds if it sells.
The Terror Cottas is a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts service organization. Contributions for the charitable purposes of The Terror Cottas must be made payable to “Fractured Atlas” only and are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
Your donation benefits The Terror Cottas. Funds raised beyond the scope of The Ostrich help further The Terror Cottas’ mission to build audience and performance opportunities for experimental playwrights by sharing resources and networks among member playwrights and associate artists, applying for funding, and educating and welcoming audiences with radical hospitality.
