Maker of Worlds was produced at Theater for the New City’s Dream Up Festival Sept. 2-7, 2019, back when The Terror Cottas were known as The P.A.N.T.S.
Martha, a deity, decides to destroy the world because there’s no good left in it. A second deity disguised as her yoga instructor proposes fighting the system instead. But Martha’s husband Warren built the system, and somewhere on another plane, Martha is still in love with Jim Morrison. The versatile Amy Gorelow plays 6+ characters in this funny absurdist play about creativity, Capitalism and the divine in all of us.
“With its mix of living, deceased, and divine characters, Maker of Worlds reimagines cultural traditions for progressive ends, using an approach that is as fun and funny as its subject matter is urgent.”

“The teaming of writer Wendy A. Schmidt, director Jeri Frederickson and actor Amy Gorelow is a chemical victory.”
– Hi! Drama
“Amy Gorelow does excellent work to bring this particular world to life, peopling it with distinct characters in a fantastic performance and using some simple props, from Tiffany’s wheeled office chair to Warren’s martinis, to enhance the character work. Also… her trident skills are on point.”
